Serendipity
I'm still in New Year's mode. That is, trying to do the things I've been meaning to do.
First, backstory: When I left my job at the college in 2000, one of the things lost in the move was the top of my tripod--the part of the tripod that bolts onto the bottom of the camera. It was an expensive tripod, so I never threw out the tripod, in vain hopes that some day, some way, I'd find the tripod head.
Fast forward to 2005. Back in September, I moved from one office where I did web design across town to another office where I do (theoretically) java programming.
So, last night, 2006, I had a lingering box of shtuff that I never brought into my much smaller new cube. It's been in the back of my Camaro. In fact, I had dropped the backseat to accommodate the box. I finally moved the box and pushed my backseat back up. When I unfolded the seat, I noticed something wedged in the joint. A small black plastic piece. In fact, it was the top of my tripod. 5 years later, it turned up.
