Sep. 28th, 2001 08:42 amMy Nikon just left Dallas and is on its way to Montgomery... Ain't package tracking grand? :)
Saw "Enterprise" the other night. The opening theme was a big shocker! Here we were all expecting another grandiose variation on the original Trek theme and they played a pop song. Not that this is necessarily bad, but it was jarring. The whole show wasn't bad, holds a lot of promise, but the whole Vulcan in a catsuit issue just made me roll my eyes. The whole gel-rubbing scene made me say aloud, "Gimme a f*king break!" Well, I'm sure a whole new generation of Star Trek fans just made the transition to puberty! I suppose they didn't have any heat in that room for a reason! (Just like there was a reason for Seven-of-Nine to be in a skin-tight silver catsuit...tho' no one has adequately explained the high heels to me...) We were all wondering if they used ice cubes to get the desired effect. Anyway, I think Scott Bakula will make a good captain in the Kirk tradition (as opposed to the Picard school). The premiere didn't put me to sleep like "Encounter at Farpoint." I'm disappointed that they were able to transport organic material so soon and so easily. I really wanted to see some mishaps (with non-organic cargo, even). I think they should have waited mid-season before having a successful transport. But that's just my twisted way of thinking.
