I promise, I'm done with bitching. Last night I wrote over ten thousand words on "Why I want a new job" between the response as to what the LoooOOOnnnggg Story was and my venting entry. So enough already! ;)

This weekend is shaping up to be wonderful. The weather absolutely sucks--it's been raining on and off and we've backslid into muggy summer mode--but the Greek Festival starts tonight and the Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores, AL is Sunday. :) I've never been to the Shrimp Festival at Gulf Shores, but if its anything like the the Seafood Festival we had last week, it's a good excuse to eat elephant ears, kettle corn, and wander around artists' booths!

It's funny, having purged myself of some much spleen, I'm in a pretty good mood today despite the fact I had to call Mike for a ride into work--my battery died this morning. Plus two of my co-workers brought in their cappuchino machines...nothing like having a mocha cappu first thing in the morning!

I find this humorous, but maybe it's just me...

I went back to give one of my courses a once-over before turning it over to Q/A. One thing that has bothered me--I didn't write this course, I'm just cutting and pasting--is in this course about how to conduct a proper intelligence briefing, they say "Articulate clearly and pronunciate properly."

Pronunciate.

Pronunciate?

I shrugged it off a few times as I converted the course to HTML, but it finally got to me. I pulled up a few on-line dictionaries.

No such word.

::giggle:: So in the very paragraph in which they discuss the importance of proper grammar and word choice, they use a made-up word. :)

And this course has already been deployed and in use for several years!

::grin::

I feel dirty suddenly! ::laughs::

We run AIM at work to keep up with people at our offsite offices--that's my story and I'm sticking to it. Alexandra often appears on my list as being on-line...but we have only chatted once or twice after she was laid off.

Odd, ain't it, after months of radio silence, two days after my resume hits her office, she says, "HI!" :)

So we chatted a bit. She said she missed the team, hoped some of us would consider coming over...she'd put in a good word...they just started a new team... And I tried very hard to put everything behind me and start fresh with her. :)

In other words, yes, I puckered up.

Robin was was watching over my shoulder. He laughed and said, "You gotta do what you gotta do..."
