I finally saw it. I know, I know, major SF/Fantasy release and I wait weeks before going to see it! What is the world coming to, I ask you? I was there, first day, first show, "The Empire Strikes Back." I was there, first day, first show, "Return of the Jedi." I scored tickets and sat for the Lord of the Rings movie marathon, getting in line for seats at 7: 00 AM for the noon seating, and left theatre at 2:00 AM the next day.

Well, they've upped the threat level condition at work, weather-wise. We're to pull our computers away from the wall and cover them with tarps before we leave, plus secure all doors and windows. The planes are flying out and 'copters being stored in the hangars. The big command picnic is still on, though they may have to shut down early.

The latest projections have jogged the path a tad eastward. Earlier, New Iberia, LA was the predicted landfall. Mobile, AL is now the hotspot at 34%, with Pensacola and Gulfport, MS tied at 32%. Of course, with Mobile so close, being on the east side is actually worse for Pensacola, since the trailing edge is where the worst fury of the winds are. It's still anyone's guess. At least one computer model has the path through Pensacola. Wish I could remember which service had the most accurate path last time. :)

This is a mild storm compared to Ivan. Hopefully, it'll speed through the Gulf, not linger and pick up power. Tomorrow, depending on how things look, we'll pack away the lawn furniture and garbage cans.
