Ow! Part 2

I have mostly pain-free mobility in the hand again, that is, I can wiggle my fingers and make a loose fist, but I still cannot apply any kind of torque with the hand without feeling intense pain. Even spreading my fingers apart against the gentle restraint of the Ace bandage hurts. So stabilizing a hairbrush, turning a doorknob, opening a container--these things are still off-limits. The top of my hand from the knuckle of my index finger in a line to my wrist hurts when touched, a fact I found out when I brushed my hand against the car fender and saw stars.
I can mouse left-handed, as long as it's not fine work, but the effort of it gimps my thinking process. That is, I have to stop my thought processes and concentrate on the mechanics of mousing left-handed. Nevertheless, I did manage to play a little WoW, mostly left-handed and with keyboard shortcuts. I took more damage in battle than normal since I don't have the fine control, but I didn't die too much, and will most certainly ding level 38 tonight. I have 18 gold tucked away, though a goodly portion of that will go toward training new spells.
Yes, despite the pain, I learn nothing and my addiction remains intact.

Been there, done that...
Date: 2005-03-04 09:06 am (UTC)For a software company I hate, Microsoft does make some hardware with really good price/performance. I've convinced my employers to buy me like 3 of their Natural Keyboard (http://www.microsoft.com/products/info/product.aspx?view=22&pcid=422a84cc-d5b2-4543-9d76-6f3c9bd87b6c&type=ovr) that I use on various machines in the various offices I work in, and I've sprung for several of their Trackball Optical (http://www.microsoft.com/products/info/product.aspx?view=22&pcid=10426173-9aba-45eb-b7ce-af9ef9724d3d&type=ovr) mice out of my own pocket.
But let me tell you - there's no such thing as a guitar neck that will make Eugene's Trick Bag (http://www.guitar9.com/audio/elusivelight2.mp3) playable in an ergonomic manner....
