OMIGAWD, is it really Friday?  I thought it was Thursday or something.

Funny, being unemployed, I lose track of the day of the week.  But, by golly, I know the date, and if it's anywhere near time to claim my weeks, I'm on it.

Ran into the boss of the division I'm supposedly going to work for some far off day.  Turns out, not only is the contract fouled up, they have to re-bid it.  But, if I'm still available come mid-December, by golly, I've got a job.

Bidding process, meet glacier.  Glacier, meet bidding process.  You have much in common.

Speaking of glaciers and icebergs, that's pretty much the dealbreaker to my Titanic dreams of being re-employed in the near future.

On the bright side, I had an interview today, thanks to [livejournal.com profile] titos2cents.  I think it went well.  Here's to hoping!

Was a wreck leaving the house.  Couldn't find my car keys.  Don't have a printer attached to the home network at the moment, so I had the map to the interview location loaded on my Tablet PC, but Adobe Reader decided to go kaploooey as I was leaving, so I had to reboot and reload the map.  Couldn't find a hair brush.  Couldn't figure out what to wear.  Came to the conclusion that if I'm going to be unemployed, I'm hitting the gym.  I can't fit into my interviewing suits without looking like a stuffed sausage.  Wore basic black instead ("It's SLIMMING!").  Realized I was about to go to a military base with expired tags.  FINALLY put my new license plate on.  (My b'day was in September, got my new tag yesterday, so been riding around with expired car tag for over a month.)

Went to my co-worker's going away luncheon at a casual place on the water.  That was a nice mellow time.  We were out there for a couple of hours, shooting the breeze.  There was a cold breeze coming off the water, but they had heaters everywhere, so it was comfortable.  There's a lot attractive about the boating life.  :)

O Sweet Baby Jeebus don't I know about the interview suit thing. A couple of months ago when I was interviewing for an upgrade position, I went to put on my nice pinstripe suit - no dice. Pants too small. The oversize Navy Blue? Same deal. These suits date from when I was 120lb and a little thinner in all areas. It's amazing what a difference 30 lb makes on a 5'4" frame.

Sit-ups. Looooots of sit-ups.
